Samsung suspends Android Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones

Samsung recently started rolling out the Android Oreo update for its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. The latest Android version managed to reach some regions including India, USA, Turkey, France and Poland. Now an online report suggests that the company has halted the update.
According a report by SamMobile, Samsung has stopped the rollout of Android Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. The company has also pulled back the firmware files for both the handsets from its servers.



The report also adds that the company is working on a new firmware version for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The company has not yet officially revealed any reason for the suspension of the update and it is also not clear that when it will resume the update.

Recently, Samsung revealed that it will be present at the upcoming tech show Mobile World Congress 2018, in Spain Barcelona. The company also sent media invites for its event scheduled for February 25. The company revealed that it will launch its next generation flagship smartphone Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the event.

As per the rumours, the smartphones will run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship processor Snapdragon 845.
The smartphones are said to come with the same Infinity Edge display as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to sport a ‘Super Speed Dual Pixel’ 12MP camera with Optical Image Stabilisation. The camera is said to come with a functionality which will enable the user to switch between two apertures – F/1.5 and F/2.4.

The front of the smartphone is said to come with an 8MP autofocus selfie camera. The device is expected to come with wireless charging, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be expanded further via microSD card.
