Earlier this year, OnePlus confirmed that they will launch their flagship smartphone OnePlus 6 in the second quarter of this year. However, a new rumour surfaced online earlier today hinting that the company might be working on a mid-range smartphone called OnePlus X2.

The report suggested that this will be the successor of the OnePlus X which the company launched in 2015. As reported by GizChina, the smartphone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display and said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The smartphone is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and 16MP selife camera.

However, reacting to this rumour the company has denied the making of OnePlus X2 smartphone. Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus took to Twitter and revealed that they have no plans of making any OnePlus X2. In the same thread he also tweeted, "Fake news is a huge threat to human civilization. Let's all do our part in stopping it."

Last week, OnePlus started rolling out Android Oreo in the form of OxygenOS 5.0.2 to OnePlus 5T smartphones. However, the company soon suspended the update due to some issues. Now, the Chinese manufacturer resumed the roll out with OxygenOS 5.0.3.
There is no major change in the update just some more bug fixes and the mitigation for CPU vulnerability including Spectre attacks. The company claims that its an OTA update and it will soon reach all the OnePlus 5T users.
